Featured Artist: Albulena Panduri, alba
Today we meet our first featured artist, Albulena Panduri, an art student from Kosovo who creates magical art peices by stitching together various elements from different pictures.
Tell us a bit about yourself.
My name is Albulena Panduri and I'm an art student from Kosovo. I study graphic design. About three years ago I discovered the art of photo manipulating and I fell in love with it. The idea of stitching together various elements from different pictures together, to create something that in a single picture you may not achieve was fascinating to me. From now on I'm trying to get better in this field of art.
Apart from creating amazing art, what do you do?
Taking pictures is part of my college too so I'm really connected to it. Apart from that I enjoy listening to good music, reading books and this kind of stuff.
Where does your inspiration come from?
My inspiration comes usually from everyday life, and mostly from movies and music that made a good impression on me. Also a big part of my inspiration is a digital artist from Philippines Michael Vincent Manalo which his works made me fall in love with photo manipulation and since than we keep in touch with each other and we are good friends.
What does photography mean to you?
Photography for me means life, is the way of living with all those images that you are surrounded in your living place or wherever you'll go, and every single shot with your camera makes a memory that will live forever.
Who has been most influential in your work?
As I mentioned before Michael Vincent Manalo was a big part of influence and inspiration to me, and also my family who always have supported me in my way of being an artist. I like children and the way they use their imagination, so I try to picture something from their minds and make a story out of it.
When did you know you were an artist?
Since I was 5 or 6 year old. I’ve always enjoyed drawing and my favourite part of school was always drawing class.
How would you describe your creative process?
Usually my ideas come when I start to create something, so at first I should try to convince myself to start to create something and than my imagination does its job. It's a process when your subconscious takes place and you may even surprise yourself with the result.
Where would you like to be in ten years?
I can't think about where I might be in ten years, but at least after I get my degree, within these years I would like to have a studio of my own or something. Maybe if I get the chance I would like to go to USA for master's degree and there everything might happen, I'll leave that to the future.
